What is CSEET?
CSEET is an entrance test conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) for students seeking admission to the CS Executive Programme. It replaced the earlier Foundation Programme and serves as the gateway to the CS profession.
CSEET Exam Pattern
The CSEET is a computer-based test consisting of four papers:
- Paper 1: Business Communication — English grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and business correspondence
- Paper 2: Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning — Basic legal concepts, reasoning ability, and analytical skills
- Paper 3: Economic and Business Environment — Micro and macro economics, business environment concepts
- Paper 4: Current Affairs and Presentation Skills — Current affairs, general knowledge, and viva voce
Eligibility for CSEET
Students who have passed Class 12th (or equivalent) from a recognized board are eligible to appear for CSEET. There is no age limit for appearing in the exam.
After CSEET: The CS Career Path
After clearing CSEET, the CS course follows this structure:
- CS Executive Programme: Two modules covering Company Law, Tax Laws, Corporate Governance, Securities Laws, and more
- CS Professional Programme: Three modules covering advanced topics in Governance, Compliance, Drafting, and Corporate Restructuring
- Practical Training: 15 months of management training with a company or practicing CS
